Success

Congratulations to everyone that completed the Learn to Scull course – you’ve all done brilliantly and we’ve all had loads of fun. The most impressive moment was Jilly heading down the river with a quad square blading in perfect time – amazing!
Apart from the capsize drill (which was in the swimming pool) noone fell in and apart from a slight tangle with the bank on race day there weren’t any mishaps!
Thanks for being such a great group … next step …. improvers!!
N.B. The next course will be after pub and club towards the end of June (dates to be confirmed)

Learning to Scull

The first 3 weeks of the course have gone really well with everyone getting out onto the water and starting to get their coordination right. We’ve been so lucky with the weather, unbelievable in March. I’ve been particularly impressed with crews square blading our stable boats, full crew, already! Well done!

I’m looking forward to the next session on Saturday when I think the boats will really start to move! If you want to do some homework have a read of Sculling without tears http://www.oeffner.net/sculling.htm – See you there!
